Autodesk Delcam FeatureCAM 2017 SP1
 

Autodesk FeatureCAM is an easy-to-use solution for milling machines, turning and turn/mill centers, and wire electrical discharge machines (EDMs). The automation tools within FeatureCAM help manufacturers reduce programming time, allowing parts to be made faster. They also increase programming consistency for maintaining part quality.

The 2017 version of the product includes the following improvements:

- New programming capabilities for dual-path Swiss-type lathes, further improving its range of CNC machine support
- Ability to import and view product and manufacturing information directly from a model in order to help visualize design specifications
- Access to functionality that allows pre-drilling when using Vortex toolpaths, ruling out the need for helical ramp moves

In addition to the features above, PartMaker 2017, which enables complex, high-precision part manufacturing with Swiss-type lathes, is now available within the FeatureCAM 2017 Ultimate product tier. The two products in combination form a complementary bundle that effectively addresses the programming requirements of today's manufacturing shops.

Service Pack 1 Fixes apply to the Autodesk FeatureCAM 2017 release (version: 23.0.0.98).

Summary of Fixed Issues


Swiss Machining
- Fix a bug in simulation in which the part was indexed before retracting, after a turning or boring operation.
- Correct the definition of SW_sProfile_55m_RH in the default swiss tool crib.
Turning
- Fix a bug in which "Withdraw length" in the Turning tab was not respected if "Use clearance as finish withdraw length" was unchecked.
Wire EDM
- Fix issue in which setups were not combined when using "Generate single program with program stop option".
Import/Export
- Add support to preserve original color for proxy objects from DWG files.
- Support exporting curves of type text to dxf.
- Fix a bug in computation of the stock size when importing certain dxf files.
Solid Modelling
- Fix a bug that prevented selecting a solid to cut or add in the Solid of Revolution command.
- Post Processing
- Fix a bug that missed some larger arcs when splitting angular moves to less than 180 degrees.
- Fix a problem in which an angular move to 0 could be inserted into a milling toolpath in certain circumstances.
- Correct the logic that sets the reserved word.
- For one-pass posting, make post variables available in File End format.
- Fix a bug when sending drilling cycles to Autodesk Manufacturing Post Processing Utility (via .pmoptz post) in which clearance value was added to the Z coordinate.
- Fix a bug introducted in 2017 R1 that prevented inserting reserved words using the Word List.
User Interface
- Fix a problem with "Display properties" and "Change simulation tool color" menus invoking other tools.
- Correct help strings for New Setup and Tool Manager dialogs.
- Retain previous user settings for Engraving Text dialog between sessions.
- Fix listing of addins containing special characters (e.g. accent marks) in the Addins Library.
Install & Localization
- Add shortcuts to the Start menu during installation.
- Localize folder screens in installer and Let's Get Started dialog.
- Update some icons associated with install/uninstall of the product.
- Fix failure to launch Help in Italian locale.
- Fix an issue blocking Chinese localization.
- Update or remove invalid website references in API Help.
